I remember the first abbreviated message I received in a conversation I was in … “LOL”. I have to admit that at that time I didn’t know what it meant. And furthermore, I concluded the person was saying “Lots of Luck” because of what we were talking about. I know of someone else who thought it meant “Lots of love”. Eventually I learned it really means “Laugh out Loud”. And that made sense in the context of that first time someone used it in response to what I’d said at the time.

Another abbreviated message that I’ve seen used often is “TBTG”. We’re living in a time when we need to embrace the message “Thanks Be To God” and recognize how much it applies to these days in which we are living.
