Choir and Music

Choir and Music

Music has been a part of Christian worship since the earliest days of the Church. Acknowledging their continued importance to worship, both vocal and instrumental music continue to be essential elements of the liturgy at our weekly 10.30 am service, and also on special occasions.  Music from Contemporary Christian Music influence and also jazz is added to our 10:30 service.

St. Paul’s Choir

St. Paul’s Choir has a primary role in leading the congregation at 10.30 a m. services. The choir currently meets for practices on Thursday evenings between 7:30 and 9:00PM.  Beyond leading congregational singing and the liturgical components of the service the choir’s enriches the services with choral music from a wide range of sacred musical influence. Music from the past 5 centuries is offered.  New members are most welcome; whether you can commit to every week or your schedule only allows less regular involvement we encourage you to participate.  The music team will arrange rehearsals to make sure you are up with the choir.

St. Paul’s Music Team

We encourage musicians to offer their gifts to the worship of the church.  There is always an opportunity to sing a new song or hear a different sound of the divine.  Folk music, jazz ensembles and liturgical dance are all part of our ministry of the arts.  External choirs and orchestras, graphic artists, photography enhance our understanding of the sacredness of creative arts.

For more information, of if you are interested in joining the choir or the music team, please contact the music director, Stu Beaudoin by email: stuart.beaudoin@sympatico.ca or in person following a service.
