St. Paul’s Outreach … A Sacrament of God’s grace

For my musings over these last few weeks of our time together, I’ll be focussing on things to celebrate and give thanks for and hopes for the future. Today, I want to acknowledge and give thanks for St. Paul’s outreach ministry.

Since I arrived at St. Paul’s, I have been pleased with how outward looking we are especially in reaching out to the needs of those who live in our community and neighbourhood. All fundraising, especially the dinners, were designated for outreach. And over the past few years, that has only amplified as we have engaged further with our community and built partnerships with others who also want to respond to needs as they arise. We have also made intentional decisions to use a small amount of our investments each year to support outreach. That has been a good decision which has allowed our outreach committee to respons to spontaneous need throughout the year. I am thrilled with this approach of matching what we raise through fundraisers and a campaign with an equal amount from our endowment.
