Spring Has Sprung

This past week marked the beginning of Spring … and I don’t know about you, but I am always grateful for this change of seasons and all that it brings to life. Spring is so symbolic of our faith too, and the renewal that we need after experiencing in a figurative sense the hardships of winter. Our faith in Jesus is that out of death comes resurrection … and that for sure is lived out as we mark this day when spring officially begins.

There are many signs of spring around us … I love hearing the birds that are chirping on my walk in the mornings; the piles of snow are melting away; there are shoots coming up in the garden, even though they may still be covered with a layer of snow; the days are longer; the sun is brighter; the temperatures are warmer; I’m seeing some of the chipmunks and squirrels that haven’t been around lately; the swans were back on Mill Pond. For me one of the things I look forward to is being able to wear my Birkenstocks. And this year I have a new pair to work in. They are for me a sign that the weather is changing and spring is here!!
