“Spam Messages”

I don’t know about you, but I’m often receiving spam messages in my emails that I am grateful are filtered and separated out. If they weren’t, my in box would be cluttered with unwanted messages that are often advertising of some sort or other or a scam of some kind. They truly are junk mail that needs to be recycled and trashed so as not to distract from the emails I want and need to pay attention to.

The same thing could be said about life in general. There is so much spam in the world that we are inundated with messages that aren’t helpful and can be distracting. Sometimes it comes from the media; at other times it comes through gossip; sometimes it’s based on assumptions or judgements we make. In any case, the junk mail of every day living can lead us in unhealthy directions and the development of an impaired outlook on the world causing us to miss out on the other messages of life that bring us joy and are a blessing to us.
