Legends, Legacy & Faithfulness

Over the past couple of weeks, the world lost two significant people who were definately legends in their own right. And each has left a legacy because of who they were and the way they lived their lives. Archbishop Desmond Tutu was grounded in his faith in Jesus Christ and humbly lived out his life and ministry as a faithful child of God and disciple of Jesus. Betty White left a legacy grounded in her sense of humor and desire to help people find joy through laughter. As well, she had a passion for the gift of animals. Both have been an inspiration to the world and have left their mark and legacy because of the way they interacted with those around them and the priorities they embraced and stood for.

There are many we would name as legends who equally living or who have left a legacy because of the faithfulness which they embraced life and in living life with integrity. Others include Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King, Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, John F Kennedy, Queen Elizabeth, Pope Francis, Rosa Parks, Greta Thunberg, C.S. Lewis, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and the list could go on and on. And of course, for us as a people of faith, a legend in his own right, who left a legacy through his faithfulness is none other than Jesus Christ. Read More
