Join Us This Sunday

Each Sunday we celebrate Communion together at 10:30 am with music, hymns, scripture readings, a sermon and prayers. Although masks are optional, we strongly encourage those worshiping to wear a mask for their own protection and the protection of others. We look forward to welcoming you to St. Paul’s.

End Times

My musings for this week come out of an experience I had last Friday at the deli counter in Vinces. I happen to have been wearing my clerical collar since I’d just done a service at Low and Low’s. The person behind the counter obviously realized I was a minister and felt comfortable saying to me “end times … we’re in end times aren’t we”. And it wasn’t in the form of a question that required a response on my part. She was making a statement informed by her faith given all that is happening in the world.

In Luke 21:25-28 (NRSV), Jesus says, “There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars, and on the earth distress among nations confused by the roaring of the sea and the waves. People will faint from fear and foreboding of what is coming upon the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see ‘the Son of Man coming in a cloud’ with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to take place, stand up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” Read More.
