Lenten Reflections … “We Journey Together”

Throughout Lent, we have embarked on a journey together as part of the rhythm we have embraced during this holy season. Opportunity was to be given on Sundays for people to share what they have experienced or learned, any reflections you’ve had or questions that have been raised, or any aha moments that might have struck you in your reading and reflecting. We haven’t been able to do so since our corporate worship has been suspended.

Something that struck me in the reflection for March 3 was an affirmation of how important the sacrament of the Eucharist is for me in my vocation but also personally in my own spiritual life. The Eucharist, the breaking of bread, the sharing of the cup, the gathering at the table are all central to how my faith is nurtured. And especially now, when we have suspended gathering together for worship, that means we have also suspended Eucharist, the communal sharing of the bread of life and the cup of salvation. So how else can I experience the sacramental grace I’d usually receive in the Eucharist? Where might I still know and experience the life giving presence of God that makes a difference to me on this journey of life?
